Aequinox has worked on a broad suite of wetland projects. Here’s a sampling of just a few:
Estridge Wetland Mitigation Project Aequinox performed all aspects of a 6-year Wetland Mitigation Project along the Crooked River in Central Oregon from 2006 to 2011. We delineated wetlands at the mitigation site, developed a Wetland Mitigation Plan to restore and create 6.3 acres of wetland, and acquired Removal-Fill Permit from DSL and USACE. Aequinox oversaw wetland construction, planted and seeded, prepared as-built report, and conducted 5 years of monitoring to document wetland success.
ODOT Wetland Projects via a Wetland Services Contract Aequinox held the ‘Environmental Services Support for Region 4 Wetlands’ Contract with the Oregon Department of Transportation from 2007 through 2012. As a Wetland Specialist, Karen assisted with annual monitoring of ODOT’s Crooked River Wetland Mitigation Bank (CRWMB) and wrote the CRWMB’s Vegetation Monitoring Plan, Weed Management Plan, and the Crooked River Wetland Mitigation Bank Long-Term Management Plan. She also delineated wetlands, assessed wetland functions, wrote wetland impact assessments and mitigation plans, and assisted with permitting on several ODOT highway projects.
Lake Creek Lodge Wetland Delineation In preparation for the restoration of Lake Creek through Lake Creek Lodge, we conducted a wetland delineation to identify boundaries and characterize wetlands within the project area. Suttle Lake Wetland Delineation In preparation for a bridge replacement and dam removal project on Suttle Lake west of Sisters, OR, Aequinox delineated wetlands within the project vicinity.
Argentine Mine Site Constructed Wetland Demonstration Project. Rico, Colorado. As a sub-contractor to Iris Mitigation and Design, Inc. and Anderson Engineering Co., we provided wetland expertise and construction oversight, including advising on matrix, topsoil, wetland plants, and erosion control. Karen obtained 40-hr OSHA training and 2-hr. defensive driving training.
